Sulfide with Oxygen-Rich Carbon Network for Good Lithium-Storage Kinetics

Shanshan Xue et al.

Summary: Transition metal sulfides are promising electrode materials for alkali metal-ion batteries, but their practical applications are hindered by poor cycling stability. A two-step carbonization and sulfurization method was developed to create CoS2 composite material with enhanced conductivity and stability, leading to excellent electrochemical performance in lithium-ion storage.

Surface modification on copper particles toward graphene reinforced copper matrix composites for electrical engineering application

Shengcheng Shu et al.

Summary: Graphene has shown promise as an effective reinforcement for metal matrix composites due to its exceptional properties, but achieving uniform dispersion remains a challenge. A gel-assisted route was designed to produce graphene-reinforced copper matrix composites with significantly enhanced mechanical properties, low friction coefficient, and improved wear resistance, offering a new solution for mass production of graphene-based composites.

Performance of Thermal Interface Materials

D. D. L. Chung

Summary: In this study, the use of thermal interface materials (TIMs) for improving thermal contacts is examined. The performance of TIMs is mainly determined by their thermal contact conductance, which depends on factors such as conformability, thermal conductivity, and small-thickness feasibility. However, most published research focuses solely on the thermal conductivity within the TIM, neglecting the importance of thermal contact conductance. Thermal pastes and low-melting alloys exhibit the highest performance among TIMs.

Improved thermal conductivities of vertically aligned carbon nanotube arrays using three-dimensional carbon nanotube networks

Yu Cai et al.

Summary: Vertically aligned carbon nanotube (VACNT) arrays have superior vertical thermal conductivity but suffer from weak interaction between adjacent carbon nanotubes (CNT) during polymer infiltration. This study introduces a novel three-dimensional CNT (3DCNT) network structure, where VACNT is crosslinked by secondary CNT, to provide in-plane phonon paths and maintain structural stability. Results show that the 3DCNT20/P composite has significantly higher vertical and horizontal thermal conductivity compared to the IVACNT/P composite.

Huitao Yu et al.

Summary: A self-healing and elastic polyimide copolymer filled into carbon nanotubes gaps exhibit high thermal conductivity, low interfacial thermal resistance, and strong surface adhesion. It also shows high elastic compressive deformation and self-healing capability, making it ideal for smart thermal management in high-power/intelligent devices.
