Summary: The study compared outcomes of Medicare patients aged 65 and older who underwent primary TKA with inpatient stays less than two midnights vs. greater than or equal to two midnights. Patients with shorter stays were younger, more likely to be male, Caucasian, and had lower BMIs, Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), and ASA class. There were no significant differences in all-cause ED visits, 90-day all-cause readmissions, and revision between the two cohorts.
