Studies on the Doping Mechanism of Conjugated Thienothiophene Polymer/MWCNT Hybrids for Thermoelectric Application

Vijitha Ignatious et al.

Summary: This study investigates the doping mechanism of conducting polymer-based thermoelectric materials, revealing that doping can enhance both electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient, leading to an increase in power factor. Different side-chain polymers show varying properties after doping, highlighting the importance of understanding the doping mechanism for designing high-performance organic-based TE composites.

Novel benzodithiophene-TTBTBTT copolymers: synthesis and investigation in organic and perovskite solar cells

Ekaterina A. Komissarova et al.

Summary: A series of new conjugated polymers have been synthesized and studied as materials for organic and perovskite solar cells, showing that the chemical structure of the polymers significantly affects the performance. Introducing fluorine atoms and phenyl substituents in the polymers can enhance the performance of organic solar cells. The uniformity of the polymer film also plays a role in the performance of perovskite solar cells.

One-Dimensional Nanocomposites Based on Polypyrrole-Carbon Nanotubes and Their Thermoelectric Performance

Neazar Baghdadi et al.

Summary: The study engineered PPy in one-dimensional nanostructured form using MWCNTs as a core template, enhancing its thermoelectric performance and forming MWCNTs/PPy nanocomposites. These nanocomposites, grown at different concentrations of MWCNTs, exhibit core-shell structures with varying thicknesses of PPy layers. Samples with higher MWCNTs content demonstrated improved thermoelectric performance.

Dynamic self-assembly of mannosylated-calix[4]arene into micelles for the delivery of hydrophobic drugs

Padincharapad Sreedevi et al.

Summary: The study introduces a modular approach using carbohydrate-lectin interactions and glycol-molecule-driven self-assembly to create nano-micelles for targeted cancer therapy. The nano-micelles show potential for efficient drug delivery and minimal off-target toxicity. Additionally, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was successfully utilized for evaluation during formation, cellular uptake, and drug release, providing a robust self-assembly strategy for a wide range of hydrophobic chemotherapeutic drugs.

MWCNT/Thienothiophene based All-Organic thermoelectric composites: Enhanced performance by realigning of the Fermi level through doping

Vijitha Ignatious et al.

Summary: A lightweight all-organic nanocomposite of benzodithiophene-thienothiophene (BDT-TTE) based conjugated polymer poly[4,8-bis(5-(2-ethylyhexyl)thiophene-2-yl)benzo[1,2-b;4,5-b']dithiophene-2,6-diyl-alt-(4-(2-ethylhexyl)3-fluorothieno[3,4-b']thiophene-)-2-carboxylate-2-6-diyl)] (PBDTT-FTTE) and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) was prepared for thermoelectric (TE) applications. The as-prepared nanocomposite showed increased electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient after p-doping with an oxidizing agent, leading to a significant enhancement in power factor. The prototype device exhibited efficient power delivery of -7 nW/cm(2) with a temperature difference of 65 K between the hot and cold junction.
