Constructing Additives Synergy Strategy to Doctor-Blade Efficient CH3NH3PbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells under a Wide Range of Humidity from 45% to 82%

Hengyue Li et al.

Summary: A facile and robust deposition technique, doctor-blading, is used to efficiently fabricate high-quality perovskite solar cells (PSCs) under a wide range of humidity. By combining an ionic liquid and molecular additives, the morphology and crystallization process of the perovskite film are modulated, resulting in large-size crystal, low defect density, and ultrasmooth surface. The achieved power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 20.34% for doctor-bladed PSCs is the highest reported for one-step solution-processed PSCs without antisolvent assistance.

Multiple Function Synchronous Optimization by PbS Quantum Dots for Highly Stable Planar Perovskite Solar Cells with Efficiency Exceeding 23%

Li He et al.

Summary: In this study, a synchronous optimization strategy was achieved by introducing PbS QDs into the SnO2 electron transport layer and using rare-earth-doped Eu:PbS QDs film as the near-infrared light-absorbing layer and hole transport layer (HTL). PbS QDs effectively passivate defects and reduce the density of trap states. The Eu:PbS QDs film with adjustable bandgap broadens the NIR spectral absorption. The well-matched energy level between the Eu:PbS QDs layer and perovskite layer promotes efficient hole transfer at the interface. The optimized PSCs achieved a maximum PCE of 23.27%, which is the highest efficiency for PSCs utilizing PbS QDs in recent years. The optimized PSCs also exhibit long-term moisture and light stability.

Polishing the Lead-Poor Surface for Efficient Inverted CsPbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells

Sheng Fu et al.

Summary: Triiodide cesium lead perovskite has the potential to be used in efficient and stable photovoltaics. However, the development of inverted devices and their compatibility with tandem devices is still a challenge. This study finds that the surface components of CsPbI3 are lead-poor and the traps present are p-type with localized states. This leads to poor electron transfer and nonradiative recombination, affecting the performance of the photovoltaics. Polishing treatment with 1,4-butanediamine can eliminate these traps and improve the efficiency of the CsPbI3 photovoltaics.
