A dual-phase-lag (DPL) transient non-Fourier heat transfer analysis of functional graded cylindrical material under axial heat flux

M. Hadi Ghasemi et al.

Summary: This study presents an analytic solution for the dual-phase-lag heat conduction in a functional graded cylindrical material. The results show that the dual-phase-lag model reaches steady temperature faster than the single-phase-lag model. The temperature stability in functional graded materials is influenced by the heterogeneity coefficient. The study provides a straightforward multivariate analytical solution for the non-Fourier conduction equation in a finite cylinder with functional graded materials and any boundary conditions.

2D hereditary thermoelastic application of a thick plate under axisymmetric temperature distribution

Hany H. Sherief et al.

Summary: This work introduces a new theory of generalized fractional hereditary thermoelasticity associated with Mittag-Leffler relaxation function, and analyzes a two-dimensional problem of a thick plate of hereditary thermoelastic. The solution is obtained in the transformed domain using a direct approach along with Laplace and Hankel transform techniques. The distributions of different fields like temperature, displacement, and stresses have been computed and presented graphically.

On the two-temperature description of heterogeneous materials

R. Kovacs et al.

Summary: Thermal behavior is crucial in various applications and affects the lifetime and safe operations of devices. With the emergence of complex material structures due to technological development, research on advanced thermal models becomes even more important. This paper focuses on two advanced models, the two-temperature model and the Guyer-Krumhansl equation, comparing their physical background and characteristic behavior, and conducting the first experimental test of the two-temperature model. It is found that both approaches can model the experimental data under certain conditions and provide different insights into the observed heat conduction phenomenon.
