The GO-CE-CA-AgNCs, which consists of beta-catechin mediated synthesized silver nanoparticles embedded in cellulose-graphene oxide nanocomposite, show improved antibacterial activity. The size of the AgNPs is 14.2 +/- 13.83 nm and the zeta potential is -35.9 +/- 0.14 mV. FT-IR analysis confirms the presence of GO, CE, CA, and AgNPs in GO-CE-CA-AgNCs. XRD pattern indicates the crystalline nature of GO-CE-CA-AgNCs. TEM images confirm the coating of AgNPs on the CE-GO sheets. The GO-CE-CA-AgNCs show potential as antibacterial agents against both Gram-positive and negative bacterial pathogens.
The beta-catechin (CA) mediated synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) embedded cellulose (CE)-graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite (GO-CE-CA-AgNCs) developed for improved antibacterial activity. The size and zeta po-tential of AgNPs were 14.2 +/- 13.83 nm and -35.9 +/- 0.14 mV, respectively. FT-IR analysis confirmed the bond vibration in GO-CE-CA-AgNCs were corresponding to GO, CE, CA, and AgNPs. XRD pattern revealed the crys-talline nature of GO-CE-CA-AgNCs. TEM images confirmed the coating of AgNPs on CE-GO sheets. Antibacterial and biofilm inhibitory efficacy were compared as CA>CA-AgNPs>GO-CE-CA-AgNCs against bacterial pathogens E. coli, S. enterica, B. cereus, and S. aureus, respectively. The results inferred that GO-CE-CA-AgNCs were found to be potential antibacterial agents against both Gram-positive and negative bacterial pathogens.
