Simultaneously Improved Dielectric Constant and Breakdown Strength of PVDF-based Composites with Polypyrrole Nanowire Encapsuled Molybdenum Disulfide Nanosheets

Hua-Bin Luo et al.

Summary: High-performance dielectric polymer composites have attracted attention in the field of energy storage. This study fabricated novel hybrid fillers that integrated one-dimensional polypyrrole nanowires and two-dimensional molybdenum disulfide, leading to improved dielectric properties. Additionally, this synthesis method opens up new opportunities for fabricating nanostructured polymer composites to produce high dielectric materials.

Enhanced photoresponse and high photo-detectivity in chemically deposited MoS2 thin films with inherent strain

Siddhartha Dam et al.

Summary: Thin film heterojunctions of MoS2/Si synthesized by chemical bath deposition technique were studied for their photoresponse. The presence of strain, confirmed by Raman and XRD, was found to enhance the photo-detectivity. An increase in particle size with annealing temperature was observed. XPS studies accurately determined the phases, showing a decrease in valence band maxima with increasing strain. Samples containing 24% MoS3 exhibited very high photo-detectivity (around 10^13).

Modulating the conductivity of free-standing, flexible composite films of poly(vinylidene fluoride)/poly(3,4 ethyelenedioxythiophene):poly (styrelenesulfonate)

Mandeep Jangra et al.

Summary: The study involved the deposition of free-standing, flexible composite films of PVDF/PEDOT:PSS, with increasing conductivity observed with higher additive concentrations. The conductivity of the composite films varied with temperature, showing semiconducting behavior, and followed the Mott Variable Range Hopping model of conduction.

Fabrication of PVDF-based piezocatalytic active membrane with enhanced oxytetracycline degradation efficiency through embedding few-layer E-MoS2 nanosheets

Wei Ma et al.

Summary: A novel piezocatalytic active membrane was synthesized using exfoliated multi-flaw MoS2 nano-sheets and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) via electrospinning technique. The membrane exhibited superior degradation efficiency of antibiotic oxytetracycline (OTC) and stable piezocatalytic activity, attributed to the synergistic effect of embedded E-MoS2 nanosheets and a high proportion of PVDF beta-phase. This study is significant for exploring composite membrane piezocatalysts for large-scale applications in wastewater treatment.
