Biological activities of chitosan-salicylaldehyde schiff base assisted silver nanoparticles

The findings suggest that biologically synthesized CuO NPs have applications in both antioxidant and photocatalytic fields.

Effect of the Concentration and the Type of Dispersant on the Synthesis of Copper Oxide Nanoparticles and Their Potential Antimicrobial Applications

Summary: This research investigates the influence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) on the production of copper oxide nanoparticles, showing different types of nanoparticles formed at the beginning of the reaction. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images reveal the size distribution of the nanoparticles, and antibacterial tests demonstrate the inhibitory effects of small CuO and Cu2O nanoparticles on various bacteria. Further studies are being conducted to determine the optimal ratio of copper oxide nanoparticles per cm(2) of fabric for effective antibacterial activity.
