Electrochemical detection of tyrosine with casting electrode with carbon black and graphene oxide co-doped

Qiwen Bao et al.

Summary: This study examined the performance of carbon black and graphene oxide co-doped electrodes and analyzed their contributions to electrochemical performance. A two-layer electrode system was fabricated on a hydrophilic carbon paper surface for the electrochemical detection of tyrosine. The electrode showed increased active area, simplified fabrication process, improved stability and repeatability. The combination of carbon black and graphene oxide formed a solid structure through van der Waals force, adsorption force, and carbon paper substrate. This co-doped electrode will play a significant role in biomedical and civilian detection fields.

A review on various sensing prospects of SPR based photonic crystal fibers

Shivam Singh et al.

Summary: This review article discusses the various prospects and applications of Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) in biosensing, refractive index sensing, biomedical imaging, dispersion compensation, supercontinuum generation, and solitons generation. The advancements in PCF technology have not only expanded its applications in optical communication but also in PCF-based sensors. The use of PCF structures with high nonlinearity and changes in cladding or core structure to control dispersion have been explored. The focus has shifted towards PCF-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors and refractive index sensors. The incorporation of 2D/TMD materials such as graphene and MoS2 has been explored to enhance biomolecule adsorption and increase sensitivity in biosensors.

Electrochemical L-Tyrosine Sensor Based on a Glassy Carbon Electrode Modified with Exfoliated Graphene

Codruta Varodi et al.

Summary: In this study, a graphene sample (EGr) was synthesized through electrochemical exfoliation method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the morphology of the graphene material. The graphene modified electrode exhibited higher sensitivity and lower detection limit in L-tyrosine detection compared to the bare glassy carbon electrode, demonstrating the advantages of using graphene in electrochemical sensing.

New voltammetric method for determination of tyrosine in foodstuffs using an oxygen-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified acetylene black paste electrode

Jinxia Feng et al.

Summary: This study prepared an acetylene black paste electrode (ABPE) modified with oxygen-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT-COOH) for investigating the electrochemical behavior of tyrosine. The modified electrode showed a well-defined anodic peak for tyrosine oxidation, and the oxidation peak current varied linearly with tyrosine concentration. The MWCNT-COOH/ABPE was successfully applied for the determination of tyrosine in food samples.
