Knowledge, attitudes and willingness to organ donation among the general public: a cross-sectional survey in China

Summary: This study assessed the level of knowledge, attitudes, and willingness to organ donation among the general public in China. The findings revealed a positive association between knowledge and attitudes with the Chinese general public's willingness to organ donation. Understanding the concept of brain death and the transplant procedure may help increase the rate of willingness to organ donation.

Summary: The study found poor knowledge and unfavorable attitudes towards organ donation among patient companions at a major medical center in Ethiopia. Male gender was significantly associated with improved knowledge, while participants with lower education levels were more likely to have unfavorable attitudes towards organ donation. Strategies focusing on educating the general public and disseminating information on the benefits of organ donation are crucial for improving the organ donor pool.

Knowledge and Attitudes Regarding Organ Transplantation Among Cyprus Residents

Summary: The study found that the majority of participants believed organ donation to be lifesaving and over half agreed that brain death must be confirmed before organ removal. However, many participants had limited awareness regarding the organ donation system in Cyprus and some lacked a source for obtaining related information. It is recommended to increase awareness and education to improve organ transplantation rates in Cyprus.
