Spatiotemporal trends in life expectancy and impacts of economic growth and air pollution in 134 countries: A Bayesian modeling study

Shaobin Wang et al.

Summary: This study uses Bayesian spatiotemporal modeling and Bayesian regression modeling to analyze the spatiotemporal trends of life expectancy in 134 countries from 1960 to 2016 and the impact of economic growth and air pollution on life expectancy. The results highlight the heterogeneity of global spatiotemporal trends in life expectancy and the differences in the effects of influence factors across different WHO regions.

Modelling the Spatial Distribution and the Factors Associated with Under-Five Mortality in Nigeria

Adeniyi Francis Fagbamigbe et al.

Summary: Globally, the risk of a child dying before the age of five remains high, with Nigeria still struggling to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal Target. Factors such as education level, age, poverty, gender, low birth weight, and multiple births are associated with high under-5 mortality rates. Identifying geographical 'hotspots' and key factors driving under-5 deaths in Nigeria can inform the effective design and implementation of interventions.
