Shading Gradients Drive Differential Responses of Leaf Traits in an Early Community Germinated by Forest Topsoil

Summary: This study evaluated the variation in leaf traits in different species and at the community level under shading treatments. The findings suggest that responses and variabilities of leaf traits differ across different species and trait types along shading gradients. Intraspecific variation noticeably contributes to local adaptation in the heterogeneous restoration community.
