Length-weight relationship of five species of Nemipteridae family along the Gulf of Mannar, Eastern Indian Ocean

Mahesh Chand Sonwal et al.

Summary: The study reported the parameters of the length-weight relationship of five Nemipteridae species in the Eastern Indian Ocean, based on samples collected from trawlers at Thoothukudi Fishing Harbour. The descriptive statistics and estimated length-weight relationships for the fish species were detailed in the paper.

Fish Community Structure and Biomass Particle-Size Spectrum in the Upper Reaches of the Jinsha River (China)

Taiming Yan et al.

Summary: The study found that fish diversity in the upper Jinsha River was deficient and influenced by factors such as flow velocity, altitude, and dissolved oxygen. The fish communities were moderately to severely disturbed, especially in the main stream where exotic species increased, individual fish size decreased, and age decreased.

Length-Weight Relationships of 52 Species from the South of Sicily (Central Mediterranean Sea)

Fabio Falsone et al.

Summary: This study provides the Length-Weight relationships (LWRs) of 52 species off the Southern Sicily, and compares them with previous research. The results show discrepancies with the LWRs reported in previous studies. These findings are important for filling the knowledge gap of fish populations in the area and assisting future stock assessment studies.

Length-weight relationships of ornamental fish species from Amana Lake, Amana Reserve, Amazonas, Brazil

Alexandre P. Hercos et al.

Summary: The study estimated length-weight relationships for 16 ornamental fish species from Amana Lake and nine tributary streams in Central Brazilian Amazonia. Various sampling methods were used, and new maximum standard lengths were provided for six species.

Length-Weight Relationship of 60 Fish Species From the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, Egypt (GFCM-GSA 26)

Sahar F. Mehanna et al.

Summary: This study describes the length-weight relationships of 60 important pelagic and demersal fish species caught in the Eastern Mediterranean, Egypt, using data from fishing surveys and commercial catches. Linear regression was used to calculate the coefficients of LWR for 60 fish populations covering 23 families, 43 genera, and 60 species. This study provides the first LWR estimates for 35 species in the Egyptian waters of the Mediterranean Sea, which are essential for understanding the fishery resources in the region.
