Generalized covariant entropy bound in Lanczos-Lovelock gravity

Summary: This paper investigates the generalized covariant entropy bound in the theory where the Einstein gravity is perturbed by higher-order Lovelock terms. By selecting a smooth light sheet under the perturbation limit, replacing the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy with the Jacobson-Myers entropy, and introducing two reasonable physical assumptions, it is shown that the corresponding generalized covariant entropy bound is satisfied under a higher-order approximation of the perturbation from the higher-order Lovelock terms. This result implies the strict adherence of the Jacobson-Myers entropy to the entropy bound under the perturbation level, and the satisfaction of the generalized second law of Lanczos-Lovelock gravity when the Einstein gravity is perturbed by higher-order Lovelock terms.

Attractor mechanism and nonrenormalization theorem in 6D (1,0) supergravity

Summary: This study focuses on computing the macroscopic entropy of supersymmetric rotating dyonic strings carrying linear momentum in 6D (1, 0) supergravity with curvature squared corrections. The calculation is based on Sen's entropy function formalism and shows that the two independent supersymmetric completions of Riemann tensor squared contribute equally to the entropy. Additionally, further compactification of the 6D theory results in a matter coupled 3D supergravity model where the dilaton is unaffected by higher derivative interactions beyond supersymmetric curvature squared terms.
