Alternative Method for Treating Electric Arc Furnace Dust: Simulation and Life Cycle Assessment

Marja Rinne et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the technical and environmental aspects of treating electric arc furnace dust using a novel process and compared it to the conventional Waelz process. Co-product recovery reduced environmental impacts, but high chemical consumption remained an issue in the novel process. Optimization of the roasting step is crucial.

Mechanical performance and environmental impacts of self-compacting concrete with recycled demolished concrete blocks

Jing Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the feasibility of using demolished concrete blocks (DCBs) in concrete production, showing that DCBs combined with self-compacting concrete (SCC) can improve the compressive strength of concrete. Furthermore, the use of DCBs over conventional concrete also yielded significant environmental benefits.
