Effect of mixing methods on the dispersion of fibers in the gypsum matrix and performance improvement mechanism

Zhenxing Li et al.

Summary: This study presents an experimental analysis of the workability and mechanical properties of basalt fiber-reinforced gypsum (BFRG) composite materials using different fiber mixing methods. The results show that pre-mixing the fiber and gypsum before mixing with water (Method A) more evenly disperses the fiber in the gypsum matrix, improving the flexural and compressive ductility of the material.

Electrically conductive carbon fiber reinforced plastics induced by uneven distribution of polyaniline composite micron-sized particles in thermosetting matrix

Kohei Takahashi et al.

Summary: Researchers developed electrically conductive carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for lightning strike protection. By infusing carbon fiber woven fabric with a low viscosity liquid conductive thermosetting resin, they achieved a conductivity in the thickness direction of the CFRP of above 0.1 S/cm. Additionally, the use of micron-sized polyaniline (PANI)/dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) based composite particles improved the conductivity.
