Fabrication of plasmonic absorbent cotton as a SERS substrate for adsorption and detection of harmful ingredients in food

Sijia Liu et al.

Summary: A simple method for fabricating plasmonic absorbent cotton fibers dyeing with Ag NPs was reported. The Ag NPs were densely immobilized on the cotton surface, providing additional enhancement sensitivity in SERS sensing. The plasmonic cotton-Ag SERS substrate showed multiplex sensing capability for identifying pesticides from their mixture.

Study on Magnetic Porous Carbon Microspheres as a Novel Adsorbent for Malachite Green

Liang Gong et al.

Summary: The novel adsorbent of magnetic mesoporous carbon microspheres (MCS) showed high performance in removing malachite green, with the highest adsorption capacity reaching 468.5 mg g(-1). The high adsorption capacity of MCS is mainly attributed to its unique mesoporous structure, providing sufficient active sites for adsorption. Additionally, MCS maintains a high adsorption rate of 84.5% after 5 cycles of adsorption and desorption, making it a promising recyclable adsorbent for actual wastewater treatment and purification.
