2D CeO2 and a Partially Phosphated 2D Ni-Based Metal-Organic Framework Formed an S-Scheme Heterojunction for Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Haiming Gong et al.

Summary: An S-scheme heterojunction was constructed by modifying the surface of Ni-based metal-organic framework (Ni-MOF) through different in situ treatment strategies. The in situ formation of NiS2, NiO, and Ni2P on the Ni-MOF surface improved the hydrogen production activity by accepting electrons from the conduction band of Ni-MOF. Coupling 2D CeO2 with Ni-MOF/P successfully built the S-scheme heterojunction, leading to a significantly higher hydrogen production rate.

Metal-Organic Nanosheets (MONs): Exfoliation by Mechanical Grinding and Iodine Capture

Parag Tamuly et al.

Summary: A layered metal-organic framework (MOF), Cd-BPDP, was synthesized using a metal-assisted self-assembly method. The MOF was then exfoliated into porous 2D metal-organic nanosheets (MONs) through ultrasonication and mechanical grinding techniques. The resulting MONs showed significant iodine capture ability, attributed to the increased surface area, charge-transfer complex formation, and reinforced binding of iodine through charge transfer.

Exploiting one dimensional polymer for environmental monitoring: Co based coordination polymer for efficient removal of cationic dyes

M. Shahwaz Ahmad et al.

Summary: In this study, a stable one-dimensional coordination polymer was synthesized using the solvothermal method and characterized by multiple spectroscopic methods. The polymer exhibited strong dye adsorption ability and selectivity towards cationic dyes. It was also found that the polymer could efficiently remove cationic dyes even in the presence of aromatic anionic dyes. The material showed excellent structural stability and recyclability. The efficient adsorption mechanism is attributed to cation-π and π-π interactions.

Engineered Fe3 triangle for the rapid and selective removal of aromatic cationic pollutants: complexity is not a necessity

M. Shahnawaz Khan et al.

Summary: In this study, a low-cost oxo-bridged {Fe-3} triangular cluster was constructed, which showed enhanced dye adsorption capacity and selectivity towards cationic dyes. The cluster demonstrated extra stability, reusability, and high efficiency, making it an attractive and important material. Additionally, a proposed adsorption mechanism suggests that cation-pi and pi-pi interactions play a key role in efficient adsorption.
