Preparation and characterization of banana trunk activated carbon using H3PO4 activation: A rotatable central composite design approach

Mohammed Danish et al.

Summary: Banana trunk waste was used to produce activated carbons with improved surface area and phosphorus atom dispersion. The production process was optimized through a chemical activation method using phosphoric acid. The activated carbon showed a porous surface with high carbon content and good thermal stability.

Banana stem based activated carbon as a low-cost adsorbent for methylene blue removal: Isotherm, kinetics, and reusability

Erni Misran et al.

Summary: A low-cost activated carbon from banana stem (ACBS) was successfully used to remove methylene blue from wastewater. The ACBS had a high surface area and exhibited efficient removal of methylene blue, even at high initial concentrations. The adsorption data followed the Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetics model. ACBS is environmentally friendly and can be used repeatedly.

Synthesis and characterization of magnetic ZnCl2-activated carbon produced from coconut shell for the adsorption of methylene blue

Hatice Karaer Yagmur et al.

Summary: A magnetic-activated carbon composite was synthesized and researched for its adsorption of methylene blue dye, revealing the endothermic nature of the adsorption process and the best fit with the Freundlich model. The maximum adsorption capacity of the composite was calculated as 156.25 mg/g.

Activated carbon adsorbents with micro-mesoporous structure derived from waste biomass by stepwise activation for toluene removal from air

Guizhi Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, waste biomass was successfully used to prepare activated carbon adsorbents for toluene removal from air. The results showed that the activation temperature significantly influenced the structural characteristics and toluene adsorption performance of the adsorbents.
