The interaction relationships among agricultural certification labels or brands: evidence from Chinese consumer preference for fresh produce

Yiqin Wang et al.

Summary: This study examined consumers' willingness to pay for safety certification labels and brands using tomatoes as an example. The results showed that consumers were generally willing to pay a premium for tomatoes with safety-certified labels and brands. Providing additional certification information significantly improved consumers' willingness to pay for tomatoes with organic and green labels. Moreover, the study found that organic and green labels were substitutes, while hazard-free labels and enterprise brands exhibited a mutual substitution relationship.
