Environmental corporate social responsibility initiatives and green purchase intention: an application of the extended theory of planned behavior

Dang Manh Vu et al.

Summary: This study found that ECSR initiatives are strongly and positively related to attitudes towards green products, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and green purchase intention. Perceived behavioral control was identified as a partial mediator in the link between ECSR initiatives and intention to engage in pro-environmental consumption, while the mediating roles of attitude towards green products and subjective norms were not statistically significant in this linkage. Additionally, the study illustrated that the impacts of subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and ECSR initiatives on green purchase intention were stronger for females than males.

Exploring Consumers' Attitudes towards Food Products Derived by New Plant Breeding Techniques

Gabriella Vindigni et al.

Summary: New plant breeding techniques (NPBTs) are considered promising tools for achieving food security and safety. However, there is debate on how these techniques should be regulated and if they fall under EU legislation on genetically modified organisms (GMOs). This study conducted an online survey in Italy and found that consumers' self-perceived knowledge, trust in the European approval process, and the need for detailed labels are significant factors influencing the purchase of food obtained through NPBTs.
