Quantitative analysis of Cu in Traditional Chinese medicinal materials using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Duixiong Sun et al.

Summary: Traditional Chinese medicinal materials (TCMM) are important in preventing and treating human diseases. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has advantages in detecting heavy metals in TCMM. This study used LIBS combined with stoichiometry to quantitatively analyze the heavy metal copper in Angelica sinensis and Scutellaria baicalensis. Univariate and multivariate regression models were established to improve the quantitative analysis performance of LIBS. Results showed that the BP-ANN method had the closest results to the real value, followed by the PLS method. Therefore, LIBS combined with machine learning can accurately and rapidly analyze heavy metals in TCMM.

Simultaneously and quantitatively analyze the heavy metals in Sargassum fusiforme by laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Laijin Su et al.

Summary: In this study, a detection model combining laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) with a simple framework was established to quantitatively analyze seven heavy metals in Sargassum fusiforme. The results showed that six of the heavy metal models were optimal, demonstrating the effectiveness of the TV-PLSR framework for quantitative analysis of heavy metals in Sargassum fusiforme.

Fast detection of harmful trace elements in glycyrrhiza using standard addition and internal standard method-Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (SAIS-LIBS)

Chenwei Zhu et al.

Summary: By introducing the standard addition method and internal standard method into LIBS, this research created the SAIS-LIBS method for rapid and accurate detection of trace elements in glycyrrhiza. The results showed that SAIS-LIBS has higher efficiency and can provide more accurate and stable results compared to CF-LIBS. This study laid the foundation for the rapid and accurate detection of harmful trace elements in glycyrrhiza.
