Shenkang injection protects against renal fibrosis by reducing perforin expression through the STING/TBK1/IRF3 signaling pathways in natural killer cells

Junfeng Hao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanisms by which Shenkang injection (SKI) alleviates renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF) in chronic kidney disease (CKD). The results showed that SKI reduced renal fibrosis in an in vivo CKD model and downregulated the activity of natural killer (NK) cells. Additionally, SKI was found to regulate the activity of the STING/TBK1/IRF3 signaling pathway.

ShenKang Injection Attenuates Renal Fibrosis by Inhibiting EMT and Regulating the Wnt/β-Catenin Pathway

Hui-Ting Wei et al.

Summary: Shenkang Injection (SKI), a traditional Chinese medicine injection, has been found to have anti-fibrotic effects in the treatment of chronic kidney disease. The study suggests that SKI may inhibit renal fibrosis by regulating the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway and inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). The results show that SKI reduces morphological changes and collagen deposition associated with renal fibrosis, and improves kidney function by lowering blood urea nitrogen and serum creatinine levels.

Effects of Shenkang Injection Combined with Jinshuibao on Early Diabetic Nephropathy and Effects on Coagulation Fibrinolysis System and Urinary Protein

Jianhua Zhu et al.

Summary: The combination of Shenkang injection (SKI) and Jinshuibao has a significant therapeutic effect on early diabetic nephropathy (DN). This combined treatment can reduce the risk of hyperfunction of the coagulation fibrinolysis system, decrease urine protein content, and delay the progression of DN.

Recent Advances in Diabetic Kidney Diseases: From Kidney Injury to Kidney Fibrosis

Peir-Haur Hung et al.

Summary: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease, characterized by glomerular hyperfiltration, progressive albuminuria, and declining estimated glomerular filtration rate leading to kidney failure. Metabolic changes and programmed epigenetic modifications resulting from hyperglycemia are believed to play a role in the development of DKD, although the detailed mechanisms are still not fully understood.
