Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist liraglutide therapy for psoriasis patients with type 2 diabetes: a randomized-controlled trial

Lu Lin et al.

Summary: This study investigated the efficacy of GLP-1R agonist liraglutide therapy for psoriasis patients with type 2 diabetes and explored the underlying mechanism. The results showed that liraglutide treatment significantly improved the skin lesions of psoriasis patients and this improvement may be attributed to the inhibition of inflammatory factors including IL-23, IL-17, and TNF-alpha expression.

Statin therapy upregulates arachidonic acid status via enhanced endogenous synthesis in patients with plaque psoriasis

Michael S. Garshick et al.

Summary: Research has shown that in psoriasis, the use of statins can increase arachidonic acid (AA) and decrease linoleic acid (LA), consistent with the action of enhanced FADS expression. Therapies intended to blunt the effects of AA on platelet aggregation, such as aspirin or omega-3 fatty acids, may require dose adjustment when co-administered with atorvastatin.
