Etching time effect on morphological, optical and photoelectrochemical properties of BiVO4 electrodeposited films

Mohamad Mohsen Momeni et al.

Summary: The impact of etching time on the surface morphology, crystallinity, light absorption, and the photoelectrochemical characteristics of BiVO4 thin films was studied. The etching time affected the morphology, porosity, crystallinity, and light absorption of the films. The film etched for 20 minutes showed the highest photocurrent density, which was 8.2 times higher than the original film.

Developing an efficient approach for preparation of high-performance visible-light assisted ethanol electro-oxidation materials based on Pd, Pt and Pd-Pt nanoparticles supported on iron doped titania nanotube films

Mohamad Mohsen Momeni et al.

Summary: This study synthesized iron doped titania nanotubes loaded with nanoparticles using electrochemical anodization and electrodeposition, and found that the electrodeposited nanotube samples exhibited higher photoelectrocatalytic activity. Electrochemical studies indicated that Pt-Pd/FeT/Ti showed higher catalytic activity than other samples in alkaline media, and the catalytic activity of nanotube-based catalysts was significantly enhanced under light irradiation.

One-body style photo-supercapacitors based on Ni(OH)2/TiO2 heterojunction array: High specific capacitance and ultra-fast charge/discharge response

Peng Chen et al.

Summary: This work presents a type of one-body photo-supercapacitors with high specific capacitance and ultrafast response, utilizing TiO2 as the photoelectric conversion material and Ni(OH)2 as the energy storage material. The results show improved performance compared to previous works, attributed to the direct storage and release of charges in the loose Ni(OH)2 structure. This study offers a simple fabrication process for high-performance PSs for direct solar energy storage and serves as a reference for the application of other materials in PSs.

Role of nanostructure in the behaviour of BiVO 4-TiO 2 nanotube photoanodes for solar water splitting in relation to operational conditions

Joao Angelo Lima Perini et al.

Summary: In this study, BiVO4 nanoparticles deposited onto TiO2 nanotube arrays were used as heterostructured photoanodes in a compact-design PEC cell for solar-driven water splitting. The performance of the photoanodes was evaluated based on photocurrent density, H-2 production rate, and solar-to-hydrogen efficiency, with a focus on the relationship between TNT nanostructure and method of BiVO4 deposition. It was found that an ordered and crystalline TNT film is necessary to maximize photocurrent density and H-2 production rate, with the methodology of BiVO4 deposition and specific TNT nanoarchitecture playing a significant role in influencing catalytic behavior.
