Study on radiant heat exchange between human body and radiant surfaces under asymmetric radiant cooling environments

Yan Deng et al.

Summary: This study used a non-simplified heat exchange model to investigate the impact of radiant surfaces on human body heat exchange in radiant cooling asymmetric environments. The results revealed that the artificial radiant surface had the most significant effect on human body heat exchange, with a radiant cooling index of 1.91 W/m(2). The study also found that the human body radiant heat exchange ratio increased by 3.38% in radiant floor cooling compared to a uniform environment. Additionally, Low-e glass windows with a window-to-wall ratio of 0.65 provided a better thermal environment, while external walls had a slight impact on radiant heat exchange, with a radiant cooling index of 0.18 W/m(2). This research provides valuable insights for the design of buildings and the operation of radiant cooling systems.

Higher Order Chemical Reaction and Radiation Effects on Magnetohydrodynamic Flow of a Maxwell Nanofluid With Cattaneo-Christov Heat Flux Model Over a Stretching Sheet in a Porous Medium

M. Vinodkumar Reddy et al.

Summary: In this paper, the heat and mass transfer analysis of an MHD convection flow of Maxwell nanofluid with Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model along with a porous stretching sheet was investigated. The effects of thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, suction/injection, and higher-order chemical reaction were taken into consideration. The governing equations were reduced into a system of ordinary differential equations and solved numerically. The effects of dimensionless parameters on the study were discussed with the aid of graphs and tables. It was found that the temperature field decreased with an increase in thermal Grashof number, thermal radiation, and thermal relaxation time parameter. The heat transfer rate decreased with enhancing heat source, Brownian motion, and thermophoresis parameters. The concentration field reduced with the rising value of chemical reaction. The numerically computed values were validated with existing literature and found to be in good agreement.
