Summary: Bacteria belonging to the genus Paenibacillus isolated from legume nodules showed potential biocontrol activities against important phytopathogenic fungi. Strains within the P. polymyxa complex, especially P. peoriae, exhibited broad-spectrum antifungal activities and plant growth-promoting abilities, making them effective biocontrol agents and biofertilizers.
