Carcass Yield and Meat Quality of Broiler Chicks Supplemented with Yeasts Bioproducts

Daniela-Mihaela Grigore et al.

Summary: The utilization of synthetic additives in broiler chicks' feeds may cause problems in the future, including availability, costs, and health risks. A study was conducted using 320 broiler chicks to investigate the effects of dietary yeasts supplementation on meat quality. The results showed that yeast supplementation had significant effects on fat deposits, protein content, and meat color.

Aloe vera: A Sustainable Green Alternative to Exclude Antibiotics in Modern Poultry Production

Rifat Ullah Khan et al.

Summary: In the past 50 years, there has been a growing global demand for poultry meat due to increased concerns for health, ecology, safety, and equity. However, organic poultry farming, particularly the use of medicinal herbs, has gained significant attention and public demand recently, mainly due to concerns about antibiotic resistance. The ban on antibiotics in the poultry industry has led to increased interest in herbs as antibiotic alternatives. Aloe vera has been shown in various research studies to have nutritional benefits for improving poultry growth, immune status, and acting as an antibacterial and anticoccidial agent.

Suitability of dried olive pulp in slow-growing broilers: performance, meat quality, oxidation products, and intestinal mucosa features

V. Tufarelli et al.

Summary: This study assessed the effect of dietary dried olive pulp (DOP) on growth performance, meat traits, oxidation, and intestinal mucosa features in broiler chickens. The results showed that including 10% of DOP in the diet can improve meat quality, intestinal morphology, and productive traits of broiler chickens. This suggests that olive by-product can be a cost-effective replacement for conventional feeds in poultry production.

Effects of Using Processed Amaranth Grain with and without Enzyme on Performance, Egg Quality, Antioxidant Status and Lipid Profile of Blood and Yolk Cholesterol in Laying Hens

Babak Hosseintabar-Ghasemabad et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of feeding different levels of amaranth grain with and without enzyme on the performance, egg quality, antioxidant status, and lipid profile of laying hens. The results showed that feeding amaranth can lead to the production of low-cholesterol eggs without negative effects on egg quality. Additionally, feeding amaranth with enzyme additives improved the performance of laying hens. Overall, this study highlights the potential benefits of including amaranth in the diet of laying hens.

The Energy Value for Broiler Chickens of Heat-Treated and Untreated Amaranth Grain, with and without Enzyme Addition

Hossein Janmohammadi et al.

Summary: Amaranth, a drought-tolerant pseudocereal, was examined for its effect on metabolisable energy in broiler chickens. The study found that heat treatment had a greater impact on energy value compared to enzyme addition. However, a synergistic effect was observed when heat treatment and enzyme inclusion were combined in the amaranth diets.
