Acceptance Rate of Influenza Vaccination Among Patients with Type II Diabetes

Summary: This study evaluated the attitude and prevalence of influenza vaccination among Saudi patients with diabetes and found that age, university education, and belief in the dangerousness of flu infection could improve the vaccination rate, while longer duration of the disease, health messages about the vaccine, belief in its effectiveness, and physician recommendation could deter from vaccination.

Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on Influenza Vaccination Intention: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review

Summary: This study examines the influence of COVID-19 on influenza vaccination intentions globally. The findings indicate an increased intention to vaccinate regardless of age, gender, and occupation. Important determinants include historical vaccine acceptance, and perception of influenza severity and vaccine safety. The COVID-19 pandemic presents an opportunity to promote influenza vaccination and decrease vaccine hesitancy.

The intentions to get vaccinated against influenza and actual vaccine uptake among diabetic patients in Ningbo, China: identifying motivators and barriers

Summary: This study in China found that although nearly half of diabetic patients expressed intention to receive influenza vaccination, the actual uptake rate was low. Factors such as free vaccination and vaccination history were positively associated with vaccine uptake. Strategies to increase vaccination intention by promoting healthcare workers' recommendation and implementing government-funded free vaccination programs are needed to improve vaccine uptake among diabetic patients.

Barriers to influenza vaccination among different populations in Shanghai

Summary: The study revealed that influenza vaccination coverage is generally low among different populations in Shanghai, with common reasons for non-vaccination including concerns about side effects, perceived healthiness without the need for vaccination, and lack of awareness about influenza vaccines. Low education level and lack of awareness were identified as predictors of low coverage rates.
