Deactivation mechanism and regeneration effect of bi-metallic Fe-Ni/ ZSM-5 catalyst during biomass catalytic pyrolysis

Yingkai Li et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the deactivation process and regeneration effects of bimetallic Fe-Ni/ZSM-5 catalysts in the catalytic pyrolysis of poplar sawdust. The results showed that the deoxygenation activity and hydrocarbon yield of the catalyst were influenced by the biomass/catalyst ratio. The coke resistance capacity of the catalyst was increased, and the regenerated catalyst retained deoxygenation activity with slightly reduced aromatic yield.

Catalytic Co-pyrolysis of empty fruit bunch and high-density polyethylene mixtures over rice husk ash: Thermogravimetric, kinetic and thermodynamic analyses

Nadhilah Aqilah Shahdan et al.

Summary: This study examines the effect of catalysts derived from rice husk ash (RHA) on the catalytic co-pyrolysis of empty fruit bunch and high-density polyethylene. The results show that catalysts synthesized using low-cost materials like RHA can improve the degradation of the waste materials.

Catalytic pyrolysis of lignin over ZSM-5, alkali, and metal modified ZSM-5 at different temperatures to produce hydrocarbons

Nishu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of temperature and catalyst type on the pyrolysis of lignin from rice straw and the quality of the pyrolysis products. The research finds that a pyrolysis temperature of 550 degrees C and a nickel modified ZSM-5 catalyst demonstrate the most suitable conditions for high hydrocarbon production during catalytic pyrolysis of lignin.

Catalytic pyrolysis of biomass over Fe-modified hierarchical ZSM-5: Insights into mono-aromatics selectivity and pyrolysis behavior using Py-GC/MS and TG-FTIR

Yingkai Li et al.

Summary: Catalytic pyrolysis with Fe-modified hierarchical ZSM-5 catalysts showed enhanced selectivity towards monoaromatics, which was attributed to the improved acidity and hierarchical structure introduced by alkali treatment and Fe loading. Additionally, the kinetic analysis demonstrated a lower apparent activation energy for the catalytic pyrolysis process.
