Estimation of Relative Chlorophyll Content in Spring Wheat Based on Multi-Temporal UAV Remote Sensing

Qiang Wu et al.

Summary: This study used a UAV to obtain multispectral images of spring wheat at different nitrogen application levels after heading, and combined them with SPAD values measured by a handheld chlorophyll meter. Four machine learning algorithms were used to construct SPAD value estimation models. The results showed that selecting the optimal model for different growth stages can significantly improve the accuracy of SPAD value estimation.

Effects of Different Soil Moisture-Holding Strategies on Growth Characteristics, Yield and Quality of Winter-Seeded Spring Wheat

Zhiwei Zhao et al.

Summary: Drought during the overwintering period poses a threat to the emergence rate and yield of winter-seeded spring wheat in the Hetao Plain Irrigation District in Inner Mongolia. A study was conducted from 2017 to 2019 to explore different treatments and their impacts on emergence rate, growth attributes, grain quality, and yield of winter-seeded spring wheat. The results showed that film-mulching hole sowing in winter improved soil water and the emergence rate, significantly accelerated the growth process of wheat, increased yield, and promoted grain quality.

A novel approach to identify the spectral bands that predict moisture content in canola and wheat

Julio W. Torres-Tello et al.

Summary: The deep learning model presented in this paper accurately predicts the moisture content of canola and wheat crops based on hyperspectral images captured by drone flights. This model achieved high coefficients of determination and utilized a novel band selection process. The interpretability analysis allowed for studying individual predictions and could lead to more tailored software and hardware for spectral information analysis.
