Effects of Probiotics on the Growth Performance, Antioxidant Functions, Immune Responses, and Caecal Microbiota of Broilers Challenged by Lipopolysaccharide

Yang Yu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with Bacillus coagulans and Lactobacillus plantarum on broilers challenged with Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide. The results showed that these additives can promote the growth of broilers, improve their immunity and antioxidant capacity, and alleviate the inflammatory response by regulating the intestinal flora.

The Efficiency of Bacteriophages Against Salmonella Typhimurium Infection in Native Noi Broilers

N. T. Ngu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of bacteriophages on Salmonella-infected native Vietnamese broiler breed. The results showed that bacteriophage administration led to increased weight gain and improved feed conversion ratio. However, some issues caused by the infection were not completely resolved by the bacteriophage treatment.

Effects of probiotic supplements on growth performance and intestinal microbiota of partridge shank broiler chicks

Yizhe Ye et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of an EM mixture added to the basal diet on the growth performance and gut microbiome of partridge shank broiler chicks. The results showed that the addition of EM improved body weight, average daily gain, and reduced feed conversion ratio in the treated group. Additionally, EM supplementation positively influenced the morphological characteristics of the intestine in the chicks.

Bacteriophage cocktail supplementation improves growth performance, gut microbiome and production traits in broiler chickens

Santi Devi Upadhaya et al.

Summary: The study found that adding 0.05% and 0.1% bacteriophage cocktail in broiler diets can linearly improve body weight gain, and 0.05% bacteriophage is sufficient to support immune organs such as bursa and spleen, as well as enhance gut microbiome, indicating its efficacy as a substitute for antibiotic growth promoter in broiler diets.
