VQL: Efficient and Verifiable Cloud Query Services for Blockchain Systems

Summary: This paper addresses the issues of efficiency and authenticity in data queries for blockchain systems. It proposes a Verifiable Query Layer (VQL) deployed in the cloud to provide efficient and verifiable data query services. A middleware layer is used to extract and reorganize data from the blockchain system, while preventing falsified data through cryptographic fingerprinting. The authenticity of the databases can be verified by miners and public users. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of VQL in supporting various data query services and ensuring query result authenticity.

vChain plus : Optimizing Verifiable Blockchain Boolean Range Queries

Blockchain-Based Cyber-Physical Security for Electrical Vehicle Aided Smart Grid Ecosystem

Summary: The integration of Information and Communication Technologies with power grids has led to the emergence of sophisticated Smart Grids (SGs), which require complex networking technologies. To address security and privacy concerns in SG ecosystems introduced by distributed energy sources like electric vehicles and renewable energy sources, a framework based on Software Defined Networking (SDN) and BlockChain (BC) is proposed. This framework leverages SDN to manage interactions between different SG subsystems and utilizes BC and smart contracts to ensure energy transaction security and data communication. The proposed mutual authentication protocol using Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and BC is secure against various attack vectors and cost-efficient.
