Integration of ERT, IP and SP Methods in Hard Rock Engineering

Peng Shao et al.

Summary: The study highlights the importance of using geophysical methods (ERT, IP, and SP) for investigating hard rock sites. Geophysical methods have advantages over traditional borehole tests, providing wider area coverage. Integration of different geophysical methods can lead to more accurate interpretations of subsurface structures and groundwater flow.

Between Natural and Anthropogenic Coastal Landforms: Insights from Ground Penetrating Radar and Sediment Analysis

Yuniarti Ulfa et al.

Summary: This study uses ground penetrating radar surveys and sediment analysis to investigate anthropogenic interventions that have shaped the urban landscape of Penang Island, distinguish between natural and anthropogenic coastlines, and identify environmental impacts of solid waste reclamation and sewage outfall. Results show differences in radar facies between natural and anthropogenic sediments, with sediment sample characteristics corresponding with GPR data. The technique may be useful for developing coastlines with incomplete data on natural and anthropogenic landforms.
