A novel oral medicated jelly for enhancement of etilefrine hydrochloride bioavailability: In vitro characterization and pharmacokinetic evaluation in healthy human volunteers

Summary: This study developed and evaluated an oral medicated jelly (OMJ) containing etilefrine hydrochloride (ET) to provide a palatable dosage form with improved bioavailability. OMJ demonstrated rapid drug absorption and enhanced release compared to the market tablet, and the optimized OMJ showed higher Cmax and relative bioavailability. OMJ is a promising dosage form that can enhance the bioavailability of drugs undergoing the first-pass effect.
