Prevalence of Cardiovascular Disease in Patients With Potentially Curable Malignancies A National Registry Dataset Analysis

Nicolo Matteo Luca Battisti et al.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in individuals diagnosed with potentially curable cancer and found significant variations in CVD rates among different tumor types. Men, older patients, and those living in deprived areas had higher CVD rates. The findings highlight the importance of considering CVD in evaluating treatment patterns and outcomes for cancer patients.

EHA Guidelines on Management of Antithrombotic Treatments in Thrombocytopenic Patients With Cancer

Anna Falanga et al.

Summary: Thrombocytopenia is a common condition in cancer patients and can limit the use of antithrombotic treatments. Owing to the increased risk of bleeding and the potential interactions with anticancer medications, managing thrombocytopenia in cancer patients requires special attention. The European Hematology Association and the European Society of Cardiology have collaborated to provide clinical practice guidelines for the management of cancer patients with thrombocytopenia.
