A Novel Anti-TRPV6 Antibody and Its Application in Cancer Diagnosis In Vitro

Aurelien Haustrate et al.

Summary: Despite the early discovery of TRPV6 channel expression in various tissues in the early 2000s, there is still a lack of reliable tools for detecting its protein in different cells and tissues. We have developed and validated rabbit polyclonal anti-TRPV6 channel antibodies (rb79-82) against four epitopes of 15 amino acids. Among them, rb79 was capable of detecting the full-length glycosylated form of TRPV6 channel. This antibody is suitable for various in vitro applications and particularly useful for immunohistochemistry in cancer resection specimens.

Targeting the Intrinsic Apoptosis Pathway: A Window of Opportunity for Prostate Cancer

Daniel Westaby et al.

Summary: This article discusses the treatment of prostate cancer and the need for new options. Triggering apoptosis in cancer cells is an attractive strategy, and BH3 mimetics have been designed for this purpose. The article provides an overview of cell death and apoptosis, focusing on the intrinsic pathway, and discusses the potential use of BH3 mimetics in treating prostate cancer.

Evasion of cell death: A contributory factor in prostate cancer development and treatment resistance

Kirsteen J. Campbell et al.

Summary: Cell death is crucial in organismal development, homeostasis, and disease response, and dysregulation can lead to disease progression; intrinsic apoptosis is defective in prostate cancer, and targeting pro-survival BCL-2 proteins with new therapeutics may improve treatment outcomes.

Ca2+ Signaling and Its Potential Targeting in Pancreatic Ductal Carcinoma

Louay Bettaieb et al.

Summary: Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is a major cause of cancer-related mortality, with Ca2+ signaling playing a crucial role in controlling signaling pathways that promote cancer hallmarks. Understanding and targeting Ca2+ signaling in pancreatic cancer treatment may be a key strategy in overcoming drug resistance and improving outcomes.
