Lifetime, quasi-Fermi level splitting and doping concentration of Cu-rich CuInS2 absorbers

Damilola Adeleye et al.

Summary: The study shows that using high deposition temperatures can improve the efficiency of Cu(In,Ga)S2-based solar cells. Time-resolved photoluminescence measurements can estimate the doping concentration, and the increase in quasi-Fermi level splitting with higher deposition temperatures is due to an increase in doping concentration rather than a reduction in non-radiative recombination.

On the Investigation of Interface Defects of Solar Cells: Lead-Based vs Lead-Free Perovskite

Marwa Sayed Salem Basyoni et al.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells have attracted significant attention as a competitive solar cell technology due to the remarkable improvement in power conversion efficiency over the past two decades. The impact of defect interfaces between the electron transport layer and the absorber layer, as well as between the absorber layer and the hole transport layer, on the performance of PSCs is studied to determine the optimal value for maximum PCE. While the PCE has not been greatly enhanced for lead-based cells, it has significantly increased for lead-free cells, highlighting the crucial role of interface defects in different types of practical PSC structures.

Rapid degradation behavior of encapsulated perovskite solar cells under light, bias voltage or heat fields

Xiaobo Zhang et al.

Summary: Stability is a key obstacle for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells as their power conversion efficiency approaches that of commercial solar cells. Rapid degradation in PCE is caused by external fields like bias voltage, light, and heat leading to ion migration. Experimental evidence shows that introducing layers like phenethylammonium iodide or poly-methyl methacrylate can inhibit ion migration and improve device stability.
