Bicolor K-edge spectral photon-counting CT imaging for the diagnosis of thoracic endoleaks: A dynamic phantom study

Benoit Cosset et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of identifying and characterizing the three most common types of endoleaks in a thoracic aorta aneurysm model using bicolor K-edge imaging and a biphasic contrast agent injection. The results showed that bicolor K-edge imaging allows for the bicolor characterization of thoracic aorta endoleaks in a single acquisition.

Coronary CT Angiography with Photon-counting CT: First-In-Human Results

Salim A. Si-Mohamed et al.

Summary: The study compared the quality of coronary CT angiography (CCTA) scans obtained with a photon-counting CT (PCCT) system and an energy-integrating dual-layer CT (DLCT) system. The results showed that PCCT provided improved image quality and diagnostic confidence compared to DLCT.

Louis de Laforcade et al.

Summary: Recent data may moderate the classical notion that contrast medium administration causes or worsens kidney failure. Guidelines have been re-evaluated to allow the administration of iodinated contrast medium under certain conditions where benefit-risk ratio justifies it. Intravenous hydration with 0.9% NaCl or 1.4% sodium bicarbonate is the validated measure for prevention of post-iodine contrast nephropathy.

Feasibility of lung imaging with a large field-of-view spectral photon-counting CT system

Salim Si-Mohamed et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that the large field-of-view SPCCT prototype has excellent technical capabilities and high image quality for high-resolution lung CT. Standard-dose SPCCT images had superior visibility and sharpness compared to conventional CT images, while low-dose SPCCT images showed similar clarity and visibility.
