The evolution of Cr-rich precipitates in Cu-0.25Cr-0.03Ti alloy induced by trace Ti element

Yanjun Zhou et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effect of aging treatment on the properties of Cu-0.25Cr alloy and Cu-0.25Cr-0.03Ti alloy. The results show that the addition of trace Ti element significantly increases the yield strength of Cu-0.25Cr-0.03Ti alloy while maintaining a high electrical conductivity. This strengthening mechanism is mainly attributed to the nucleation and refinement of bcc Cr-rich precipitates facilitated by the introduction of Ti.

Aging process and strengthening mechanism of Cu-Cr-Ni alloy with superior stress relaxation resistance

Guojie Wang et al.

Summary: This study explores the optimal aging parameters of Cu-Cr-Ni alloy through the investigation of stress relaxation resistance, strength, microhardness, and conductivity. The strengthening mechanism of stress relaxation is also examined through TEM and EBSD characterization. The results show that the Cu-Cr-Ni alloy achieves peak aging state at 450 degrees C for 1 hour and exhibits excellent properties.

Effect of reduction-slagging coupling of Cr2O3 during in-situ preparation of homogeneous CuCr50 alloy by self-propagating high temperature synthesis metallurgy

Jin-ru Han et al.

Summary: This study investigates the reduction behavior and slagging effect of Cr2O3 during the in-situ synthesis of CuCr alloy. The results show that increasing the dosage of Cr2O3 improves the separation of alloy and slag, and affects the density and properties of the alloy.

Performance improvement of laser additive manufactured Cu-Cr alloy via continuous extrusion

Rongzhou Yu et al.

Summary: In this study, CuCr30 with ideal structure was manufactured using laser additive manufacturing (LAM), and the strength was increased by 55.3% and room temperature conductivity was increased by 6.6% through subsequent continuous extrusion process to reduce microporosity defects. The reduction of pore defects and formation of nano-twinned structure improved the strength without affecting the conductivity of CuCr30.

Improving the mechanical performance of Cu-Cr alloy by dissolving Cu in the Cr second phase

Liyuan Shan et al.

Summary: The limitations of the strengthening effects of Cr on Cu-Cr alloys due to low solid solubility of Cr in Cu phase have been addressed by enhancing the dispersion strengthening effect of the second phase Cr, using the levitation melting method. This novel strengthening mechanism has resulted in significant improvements in hardness and tribological properties of Cu-Cr alloys, demonstrating the potential to enhance mechanical performance.

Effect of Cr@RGO structure on microstructure and properties of RGO/CuCr25 composite

Jinfeng Leng et al.

Summary: CuCr alloy with high Cr content is the main contact material for medium voltage and high current vacuum interrupters. A new composite material RGO/CuCr with enhanced properties was prepared by coating Cr powder with reduced graphene oxide and then sintering with vacuum hot pressing, showing improved hardness and electrical conductivity compared to traditional CuCr alloys.
