Serum progesterone level above 0.85 ng/mL and progesterone/estradiol ratio may be useful predictors for replacing cleavage-stage with blastocyst-stage embryo transfer in fresh IVF/ICSI cycles without premature progesterone elevation

Vehbi Yavuz Tokgoz et al.

Summary: The study found that even when serum progesterone levels are below the accepted cut-off level of 1.5 ng/mL, if the levels are below 0.85 ng/mL, it may result in decreased pregnancy outcomes in fresh embryo transfer cycles.

Elevation of progesterone on the trigger day exerts no carryover effect on live birth in freeze-all cycles

Fazilet Kubra Boynukalin et al.

Summary: The trigger day progesterone levels do not significantly affect live birth rates in frozen embryo transfer cycles, suggesting that the elevation of progesterone on trigger day may not have a detrimental effect on oocyte and embryo competence.

Exploration of the value of progesterone and progesterone/estradiol ratio on the hCG trigger day in predicting pregnancy outcomes of PCOS patients undergoing IVF/ICSI: a retrospective cohort study

Yiqing Yang et al.

Summary: In PCOS patients, progesterone level is correlated with clinical pregnancy rate while P/E2 ratio is not. In subgroup analysis using three different COS protocols, a significant association between progesterone level and clinical pregnancy rate can be observed in the long GnRH agonist protocol and ultralong GnRH agonist protocol. Progesterone level is significantly better than the P/E2 ratio in predicting the pregnancy outcome of PCOS patients, especially in ultralong GnRH agonist cycles.

Endometrial thickness changes after progesterone administration do not affect the pregnancy outcomes of frozen-thawed euploid blastocyst transfer: a retrospective cohort study

Ziqi Jin et al.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the relationship between endometrial thickness changes and pregnancy outcomes in single frozen-thawed euploid blastocyst transfer cycles. The results showed that there was no statistically significant correlation between endometrial thickness change ratio and pregnancy outcomes.

Is a freeze-all policy the optimal solution to circumvent the effect of late follicular elevated progesterone. A multicentric matched-control retrospective study analysing cumulative live birth rate in 942 non-elective freeze-all cycles

A. Racca et al.

Summary: After analyzing 942 patients, it was found that elevated progesterone levels in the late follicular phase of the fresh cycle do not hinder cumulative live birth rates in subsequent frozen embryo transfers. Therefore, in a freeze all approach, the issue of late follicular elevated progesterone can be circumvented.
