Live birth after in-vitro maturation of oocytes in a patient with specific ovarian insufficiency caused by long-term mitotane treatment for adrenocortical carcinoma

Helene Bry-Gauillard et al.

Summary: This case report discusses the management of a woman with persistent specific ovarian dysfunction after long-term mitotane exposure. The use of in-vitro maturation (IVM) and embryo transfer resulted in a successful live birth. The case raises the question of fertility preservation before long-term mitotane treatment.

Development of a microfluidic system structured on a modified polydimethylsiloxane device for the selection of bovine epididymal spermatozoa

Beatriz Dantas Fernandes et al.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a new microfluidic device using modified polydimethylsiloxane for bovine sperm selection. The results showed that the microfluidic device had better non-toxic effects compared to the control and achieved better results in an IVM medium with or without oocytes.

Summary: The study compared the ultrastructure characteristics of fresh and vitrified immature human oocytes and found that O.F medium had the highest maturation rate, preserving the ultrastructure of oocytes.

Comparative Clinical Study of Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration and Testicular Biopsy in the Outcome of ICSI-Assisted Fertility Treatment in Patients with Obstructive Azoospermia

Lian Li et al.

Summary: This study compared the effects of percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) and testicular sperm aspiration (TESA) on intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)-assisted fertility treatment in patients with obstructive azoospermia. The results showed that different sources of sperm had no significant effect on embryo development, embryo implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and miscarriage rate. However, the TESA group had a higher rate of high-quality blastocysts.

Does ICSI outcome in obstructive azoospermia differ according to the origin of retrieved spermatozoa or the cause of epididymal obstruction? A comparative study

Xiaochen Yu et al.

Summary: This retrospective cohort study aimed to determine whether ICSI outcomes are affected by sperm source or genital tract inflammatory status. The study found that patients who underwent percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) had a higher rate of high-quality embryos compared to those who underwent testicular sperm aspiration (TESA). However, there was no difference in ICSI outcomes between patients with obstructive azoospermia who experienced TESA or PESA, with or without genital tract inflammation, after successful pregnancy.

Chromosome aneuploidy analysis in embryos derived from in vivo and in vitro matured human oocytes

Jianhua Li et al.

Summary: In vitro oocyte maturation (IVM) does not affect the quality of embryos and the aneuploidy rate of embryos. The aneuploidy rate of embryos increases with maternal age, especially over 35 years old, whether in IVF or IVM group. Embryos with poor quality, especially grade III embryos, are recommended to be tested by PGS.
