Synthesis of a dual-functional terbium doped copper oxide nanoflowers for high-efficiently electrochemical sensing of ofloxacin, pefloxacin and gatifloxacin

Mozhgan Taherizadeh et al.

Summary: In this study, a peony-like CuO:Tb3+ nanostructure was successfully constructed and modified on a glassy carbon electrode. The modified electrode showed good resolution for the oxidation peaks of ofloxacin, pefloxacin, and gatifloxacin, enabling simultaneous detection of these drugs. Moreover, our nanostructure synergistically influenced the electro-catalytic oxidations of these three compounds. The fabricated sensor exhibited excellent performance in co-detecting the drugs in real serum and tablets specimens, as well as detecting fluoroquinolone residues in milk.

Metal-Organic Framework-Mediated Bioorthogonal Reaction to Immobilize Bacteria for Ultrasensitive Fluorescence Counting Immunoassays

Yanfeng Gao et al.

Summary: In this study, a fluorescent bacteria counting immunoassay (FBCIA) strategy was developed for ultrasensitive quantification of protein biomarkers. The strategy involved a cascade signal conversion and amplification strategy, which enabled the conversion of target protein concentration to countable bacterial number. The developed platform demonstrated highly sensitive detection of CEA and PSA with low detection limits, and a smartphone device was also developed for point-of-care counting. The good consistency between FBCIA and clinical ELISA validated the high reliability and promising potential of the platform in clinical applications.

Integration between CuMOF and g-C3N4 for effective suppressing charge recombination in photocatalytic peroxymonosulfate activation

Yang Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a CuMOF and graphite phase carbon nitride (g-C3N4) composite was synthesized and used for the degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) in water under simulated solar light irradiation with the assistance of peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The introduction of CuMOF into g-C3N4 improved the charge separation of g-C3N4 and accelerated the activation of PMS. The degradation performance of g-C3N4/CuMOF was studied through various factors, and the photocatalytic experiment demonstrated a TC degradation rate of 90% within 30 min in the presence of PMS. The study also investigated the reaction mechanism of the g-C3N4/CuMOF/PMS system using scavenging experiments and electron spin resonance (ESR) technology. This work provides a promising approach for the rational design of high-performance and low-cost photocatalysts for environmental remediation.
