Performance of UAV-Assisted Multiuser Terrestrial-Satellite Communication System Over Mixed FSO/RF Channels

Praveen Kumar Singya et al.

Summary: This letter analyzes the performance of a multiantenna multiuser unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted terrestrial-satellite communication system over mixed free space optics (FSO)/radiofrequency (RF) channels. The impact of various factors such as downlink transmission, receiver technology, transmit antennas, decode-and-forward scheme, and user scheduling on the system performance is studied.

Covert Communication in Intelligent Reflecting Surface-Assisted NOMA Systems: Design, Analysis, and Optimization

Lu Lv et al.

Summary: This paper investigates covert communication in an intelligent reflecting surface-assisted non-orthogonal multiple access system. New downlink and uplink NOMA schemes are proposed to hide the existence of a covert user by exploiting the phase-shift uncertainty of the intelligent reflecting surface and the non-orthogonal signal transmission of another user. The covert communication performance can be enhanced by jointly optimizing the transmit power and the intelligent reflecting surface reflect beamforming.

Joint Transmit and Receive Antenna Selection for Spatial Modulation Systems Using Deep Learning

Gokhan Altin et al.

Summary: The importance of signal reliability is increasing in today's communication technologies. The selection of antennas at the receiver, transmitter, or both is an important method for increasing signal reliability. Deep learning based technologies, known for their low complexity, low processing times, and high performance, have found applications in various fields including communication, warehouse management, health services, and image processing. This letter introduces a joint transmit and receive antenna selection method for spatial modulation systems and replaces the exhaustive search with deep learning algorithms.

HAPS-Based Relaying for Integrated Space-Air-Ground Networks With Hybrid FSO/RF Communication: A Performance Analysis

R. Swaminathan et al.

Summary: Optical wireless communication, particularly Free-space optics communication, has become significant for providing gigabit capacity links. However, the limitations of FSO communication in the uplink scenario due to beam-wander, beam scintillation, and pointing errors can be countered by backing up with reliable RF links. The complementary characteristics of FSO and RF links to atmospheric effects have paved the way for the development of integrated space-air-ground networks.

Joint Resource Management for MC-NOMA: A Deep Reinforcement Learning Approach

Shaoyang Wang et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel DRL-based approach to address joint resource management in MC-NOMA systems, considering hardware sensitivity and imperfect SIC. By formulating the problem and decoupling it into subtasks, the proposed DRL-JRM approach effectively maximizes system throughput, outperforming existing alternatives, especially under high user and interference scenarios.

Energy-Efficient Resource Allocation in Massive MIMO-NOMA Networks With Wireless Power Transfer: A Distributed ADMM Approach

Zhongyu Wang et al.

Summary: This article investigates the energy efficiency problem in multicell massive MIMO NOMA networks with wireless power transfer, proposing a novel joint resource allocation scheme considering both perfect and imperfect channel state information. The nontrivial EE maximization problem is solved using nonlinear fraction programming methods and a distributed approach. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better EE performance quickly within fewer iterations.
