Universal spin-glass behaviour in bulk LaNiO2, PrNiO2 and NdNiO2

Hai Lin et al.

Summary: Motivated by the recent discovery of superconductivity in nickelate thin films, this study focuses on the synthesis and magnetization study of bulk samples of the parent compounds RNiO2. The results show spin-glass states with frequency-dependent peaks in the magnetic susceptibility and remarkable memory effects. The phenomenological parameters obtained from different spin glass models show strong similarity within these compounds and other rare-earth metal nickelates. The findings suggest a distinct nature of magnetism and superconductivity in the bulk nickelates compared to cuprate superconductors.

Role of the surface effects and interparticle magnetic interactions in the temperature evolution of magnetic resonance spectra of ferrihydrite nanoparticle ensembles

D. A. Balaev et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the effects of interparticle magnetic interactions and individual characteristics of ferrihydrite nanoparticles on ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectra. The FMR spectra show a gap in the field-frequency dependence at low temperatures, which is attributed to the individual characteristics of ferrihydrite nanoparticles. Interparticle magnetic interactions dramatically affect the behavior of FMR spectra parameters and change nonmonotonically with temperature variation.

π-electron weak ferromagnetism in potassium-intercalated 9-phenylanthracene

Ming-An Fu et al.

Summary: Intercalating alkali metal into polyaromatic hydrocarbons can tune their physicochemical properties. In this study, weak ferromagnetism with a Curie temperature of 5.2 K was realized in potassium-intercalated 9-phenylanthracene, with an antiferromagnetic transition at around 35 K. The weak ferromagnetism is attributed to intramolecular ferromagnetic and intermolecular antiferromagnetic spin couplings in the crystal unit cell.
