It finds that YouTube videos on asthma are popular and the popularity is not restricted to videos uploaded by professional sources. Although more than half of the videos are considered useful, a considerable proportion is assessed as misleading.

Changes in lifestyle and diet, including the consumption of processed foods, may contribute to the increase in prevalence of atopy/asthma. YouTube as a source of (mis)information on allergic rhinitis

Summary: This study evaluated the popularity and usefulness of YouTube videos on allergic rhinitis. The results showed that less than half of the videos provided useful information, and most of them were misleading. Professional healthcare providers uploaded fewer videos compared to television shows and YouTube channels, which had more user interaction.
