he Early Functional Abilities-revised may bridge the gap between the disorder of consciousness and the functional independence scales: evidence from Rasch analysis

Serena Caselli et al.

Summary: The study aims to calibrate a subset of the Italian Early Functional Abilities (EFAFA) scale to measure functional independence in patients with acquired brain injury. Various analyses, including Mokken analysis, factor analysis, and Rasch analysis, were conducted. A 12-item unidimensional subset (EFA-R) was identified and showed strong correlations with other relevant scales. This study provides an effective tool for assessing the abilities of patients with severe brain injury.
