Meta-Analytical Accuracy of ANCA Renal Risk Score for Prediction of Renal Outcome in Patients With ANCA-Associated Glomerulonephritis

Mengdi Xia et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis highlighted the good performance of the ARRS score in predicting renal outcomes in patients with ANCA-GN. The cumulative rate of ESRD increased with higher ARRS categories. The sensitivity and specificity of ARRS & GE; 2 and ARRS & GE; 8 differed, with the former having higher sensitivity and the latter having higher specificity.

Evaluation of a newly proposed renal risk score for Japanese patients with ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis

Masaya Saito et al.

Summary: This study is the first to report the usefulness of the renal risk score (RRS) for predicting renal outcomes among Japanese patients with antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated glomerulonephritis (AAGN). The predictive value of RRS was comparable to that of conventional prognostic tools.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approach in ANCA-Associated Glomerulonephritis: A Review on Management Strategies

Adel Molnar et al.

Summary: The heterogeneity of ANCA-associated vasculitis poses challenges for diagnosis and management, despite the increasing incidence of the disease. Prompt diagnosis and early treatment initiation are crucial for favorable patient and renal outcomes. A better understanding of the pathogenesis leads to more targeted and less toxic treatments.

Long-term validation of the renal risk score for vasculitis in a Southern European population

Javier Villacorta et al.

Summary: The study validated the renal risk score in a large cohort of southern European patients, demonstrating its accuracy in predicting renal outcomes among patients with renal vasculitis. The risk scoring system can assist in developing tailored prevention and treatment strategies for patients in different risk groups.

Predictors of renal outcomes in crescentic and mixed class of ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis

Xiaohan You et al.

Summary: This study investigated predictors of renal outcomes in crescentic and mixed class of ANCA-associated glomerulonephritis, finding that old age, lower eGFR, lower normal glomeruli ratio, and higher tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis ratio were significantly associated with end-stage renal disease. The antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody renal risk score was found to be a better prognostic tool than Berden's classification in predicting outcomes in these patients.

Outcome Predictors of Biopsy-Proven Myeloperoxidase-Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody-Associated Glomerulonephritis

Yifei Ge et al.

Summary: In patients with MPO-ANCA-GN, histopathologic classification as sclerotic, poor renal function, and lower albumin and hemoglobin levels were risk factors for end-stage renal disease (ESRD), while older age and low serum albumin level were associated with a greater risk of all-cause mortality.

Systematic Histological Scoring Reveals More Prominent Interstitial Inflammation in Myeloperoxidase-ANCA Compared to Proteinase 3-ANCA Glomerulonephritis

Samy Hakroush et al.

Summary: This study describes active and chronic tubulointerstitial lesions in ANCA GN subtypes using systematic scoring analogous to the Banff scoring system, as well as clinical and laboratory findings. MPO-ANCA GN is associated with more severe kidney function deterioration, increased proteinuria, and a decreased fraction of normal glomeruli. The research provides new insights into pathophysiology and differences in clinical presentation, potentially leading to more precise treatment regimens for ANCA GN subtypes.

Validation of the renal risk score for antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated glomerulonephritis in a Chinese population

Xue Bai et al.

Summary: The renal risk score is an effective predictor for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in Chinese AAGN patients, particularly in the high-risk group with worse renal outcomes. This score could potentially help stratify patients for appropriate management and intervention strategies.
