Digital Twin-Aided Intelligent Offloading With Edge Selection in Mobile Edge Computing

Tan Do-Duy et al.

Summary: In this letter, a mobile edge computing (MEC) architecture assisted by digital twin (DT) is studied for industrial automation. The goal is to reduce end-to-end latency by intelligently offloading computing tasks from multiple Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices to multiple MEC servers. The proposed solution formulates the end-to-end latency minimization problem considering the constraints of quality-of-services and computation resources in industrial IoT networks. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving latency performance compared to conventional methods.
