Low-Power Detection and Classification for In-Sensor Predictive Maintenance Based on Vibration Monitoring

Paola Vitolo et al.

Summary: This work proposes a new custom design of an anomaly detection and classification system, which consists of a convolutional Auto-Encoder (AE) hardware design for anomaly detection and a mixed HW/SW Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for anomaly classification. The proposed system features partial binarization to meet area and energy constraints and can be integrated on the same die as the MEMS sensors. Comparisons with related works demonstrate that the proposed system achieves state-of-the-art performances and accuracy.

Analysis of a Smart Sensor Based Solution for Smart Grids Real-Time Dynamic Thermal Line Rating

Yuming Liu et al.

Summary: Dynamic thermal line rating (DTLR) method proposed in this paper for determining the rating of ACSR conductors relies on real-time weather data, thermal model of the line, and direct measurement of conductor temperature and current. This approach allows for practical smart grid applications by accurately estimating parameters like wind speed that play a key role in determining DTLR. Experimental tests have been conducted to validate the accuracy of the proposed approach.
